Javier Eliseo Cruz was born at 7:48 A.M. on Thursday, October 25, 2007 at Bay Area Birth Center in Pasadena, Texas. He arrived healthy and alert after a sixteen hour labor. Our experience delivering at the birth center was very different from a hospital delivery. We were very pleased we made the choice to have Javier with midwives. Javier was able to be with us from the minute he was born until the minute we left the Birth Center. We felt more involved and had more attention than we did at the hospital. We felt we had more control over the atmosphere, the course of the birth, and the after birth experience. Labor is hard work, but it is well worth it to be alert and involved in the birth. Welcome, Javier!
